In Pakalomattom Mahakudumba Samshitha Charithram, Matteethra  is recorded to have come from  Pakalomattom Paarel Mappila Family.A person from Kuravilangadu Pakalomattom Tharawad moved to Thodupuzha-Mulakkambil-Perumballichira-(Permballi Pnikkammar-for their expertise in weapons).

1.  In the 12^th century Thomman Panikkar came to Meenachil. He won a war for Meenachil Kartha he was bestowed the position of ‘Senanayakan’ (Commander).One son of Thomman Panikkar was 2. Parayil Ittyavirah Panikkar. Kollavarshasham 6^th century he came to Narikkuzhy, Aymanam. His eldest son was brought to a place called Muttathupaadam to be a Vaidyar and a trainer of weapons. That family became Muttathupadam family of Saint Alphonsa. The second son Ulahannan Panikkar lived in Vattakkatu in Aymanam. Aymanam (Anchuvanam families were Vallyad, Erakkadu, Vattakkatu, Thuruthikkadu and Varikkadu.) From them came Kandmundari and Kadavukandam

3. The 3^rd son Ittyavirah resided in paarayil, Aymanam. His children branched out to Erikadu, Thondukuzhi, Matteethra and Ponnattu.

4. In Thondukuzhi family, Thondukuzhi Chandy had 3 sons and 3 daughters. One of his sons 5.was known as Thondukuzhi Chacko. His family later came to be known as Matteethra Family.
